Mark and I have been planning a trip to Michigan for quite sometime, we were thrilled when Mark's sister, Rhonda, called to tell us that Keith was planning to propose to Kaelynn (our niece) while we were at their cabin in Michigan! Eeeeekkkk!
This adorable couple has been maintaining a long distance relationship for a while, their time apart has strengthened their love and commitment to each other. You see, Kaelynn is the Director and Instructor of Theatre at Rockford High School, MI. & Keith is a sergeant with 1st battalion 504th parachute infantry regiment, 1st brigade combat team. We were hopefully praying that his leave would work out so that this moment could happen! Kaelynn is a planner, which made the secret even more fun to keep! As you can see from their photos Kaelynn was shocked- the local TV station even picked up the story after talking to Keith's mom (long story..lol)
The property where the engagement took place is one full of stories, now it even has its own love story! The land was homesteaded from President McKinley as payment for fighting in the Civil war to Kaelynn's great great grandfather Eugene VanBuren. The cabin sits on Little Bass Lake, a place near and dear to their hearts.
(To be continued in their engagement photos!)
